Michael Prinzo was an amazing father, husband, son, and humanitarian. He was born on February 1st, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the youngest of four children. His family relocated to North Miami Beach, Florida, when Mike was just 2 years old. He spent his life living in South Florida, where he loved the tropics and developed a passion for weather, along with a fascination for Florida’s infamous Hurricane season. Mike loved the beach and spent a lot of time on the water enjoying boating, fishing, snorkeling, swimming & the beautiful Florida beaches.

Mike developed a passion for Architecture, Aviation, Real Estate, and Sports. He was a loyal Miami Dolphins fan. He loved his University of Miami Hurricanes, the Cincinnati Reds, and, of course, the new teams that came to his backyard: the Miami Marlins ( now the Florida Marlins) and the Florida Panthers. He was a sports junkie and knew stats about his teams that could fill volumes. He was an all-season sports lover. He also loved to play poker; Texas Hold’em was his game, and he taught his kids to play as well at a very young age. Family poker nights were regular events at the house.

He was an outstanding racquetball player, developing a love for the game in his teens and playing through his first round of intense chemotherapy. He also had a double knee replacement at the same time because giving up racquetball was never an option. He made a record-breaking recovery and was back on the courts playing just 10 weeks after getting his new knees.

Mike was an entrepreneur who owned an Electronics company. He was a visionary. He was the first company in South Florida to be licensed to provide & service DirecTV satellite television to hospitals and hotels in the area. Mike was in the commercial electronics industry for over 35 years. He sold his company to reembark on his passion for Real Estate. Mike earned many designations in the field of Real Estate while breaking records previously set by others. He loved this new profession and was very successful.

Mike had major dental work done in 2015. His cancer was not found during the months of sitting in the chair. He had a persistent sore throat. At his wife Amy’s insistence, they went to urgent care on their wedding anniversary while on their way to dinner. They were advised to see his primary care physician immediately. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Oropharyngeal cancer. The cancer had already spread to his chest at the time of diagnosis. This cruel disease was fierce and heartbreaking for Mike and his family. He fought stoically, without complaint, until the end. He endured very difficult treatments and still never allowed himself a pity party. His only concern was for his wife and his children. He made every decision about his treatment, his afterlife arrangements, and how he wanted to leave here.

Michael is survived by his wife and partner of 35 years, Amy, his four children, Michael, Brian, Jared & Carly, and four grandchildren. He is missed beyond words.
